Sell my car comparison: Motorway vs Webuyanycar – which site is best?
We compared Webuyanycar and Motorway to see who offered the highest price across a selection of popular cars.
Motorway vs Webuyanycar: which company will give you the best price when selling your car?
The short answer is that it depends on the type of car you’re selling.
Despite all their grand promises, no car-buying site will pay the highest price for every motor.
That’s probably not the most helpful of answers, so we thought we’d conduct some research of our own to see how Webuyanycar compared to Motorway in terms of price.
We requested dozens of quotes* from each company for some of the most popular cars on Britain’s roads to see how they stacked up.
So who pays the best price between Webuyanycar and Motorway according to our research?
Take a look at the table below.
Sell My Car Guide comparison: Motorway vs Webuyanycar
Land Rover | Tesla Model 3 | Ford Fiesta | Ford Focus | Mini | Nissan Qashqai | VW Golf | Mercedes A Class | AVERAGE | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|

Of the eight different models we looked at, Motorway offered the highest average quoted price in seven instances.
If you look at the final column you’ll see that we also calculated the average price for all the cars we got quotes for, with Motorway offering around £1,250 more overall.
On their site, Motorway claim they’ll pay £1,000 more on average than their rivals, so they’ve actually over-delivered on that claim based on our research.
Yet despite our findings, we would still highly recommend that you take the time to get quotes from a few different sites.
Motorway vs Webuyanycar? Why NEITHER might offer the best price

First of all, our comparison really just offers a narrow snapshot of the market rather than any kind of comprehensive analysis.
Second, we only looked at the initial quotes rather than the final offer, which could obviously be substantially different.
Finally, it’s worth reiterating that no site will offer the best price for every car anyway.
So with all this in mind, be sure to take the time to get multiple quotes as a starting point (if possible, use a secondary email address or set one up for this purpose or you’re going to end up with a lot of emails in your inbox otherwise).
There are many car-buying sites out there that can offer you a quote in a matter of minutes.
If one comes out miles ahead of the rest then you know you’re probably onto a winner even if they do sneakily knock a little off the price at the final quote.
If you get similar quotes, be sure to factor those into your comparisons as well.
